A History of Service
Founded in 1988 by Bishop Tom Watson and Pastor Pat Watson, The Family Center of Hope, Incorporated (FCH) has faithfully served the New Orleans community for more than 38 years. What began from humble beginnings on First Street, just one day after the pastors received the keys to their church, has grown into a trusted faith based nonprofit organization committed to strengthening individuals, youth, and families throughout the city.
The Family Center of Hope was built on a simple but powerful mission: to meet people where they are, walk alongside them through life’s challenges, and help guide them toward healing, stability, and hope. Through education, advocacy, counseling, mentorship, and social services, FCH has remained dedicated to creating meaningful change in the lives of high risk youth and families.
At the heart of the organization is a compassionate and committed staff that includes trained social workers, counselors, educators, and community advocates who understand the importance of holistic care. From crisis intervention and family support services to youth development and life skills programs, the Family Center of Hope approaches every individual with dignity, empathy, and a commitment to long term transformation.
Operating from a faith based perspective, FCH believes true change happens when people are supported mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Their progressive service models are designed not only to respond to immediate family crises, but to empower individuals with the tools, resources, and support systems needed to build healthier futures.
For nearly four decades, The Family Center of Hope has remained a pillar in the New Orleans community, continuing its mission to uplift families, restore hope, and create opportunities for generations to come.
